Rescue workers from Gaston and Cleveland counties found a woman alive who was presumed to have drowned in the floodwaters that flowed over Haywood County because of Tropical Storm Fay.

Charges have been formally filed against the four Haywood County residents accused in a recent rash of burglaries in the area.
